When You’ve Changed… But Something Still Feels the Same

An ancestral message about the hidden patterns we carry—and the choice to fully step into who we are becoming.

There are moments on the path where you know you have changed.

You can feel it in how you think, how you respond, how you move through the world.

And yet… something still feels the same.

Not obvious. Not loud.
But present enough that you notice it.

The Ancestors step forward in these moments—not to point out what is wrong, but to show you what is still being carried.

The Ancestors are showing you this…

You are getting dressed for the day, putting on your new clothes with care and intention. You smooth them out, adjusting how they sit on your body, then take a moment to fix your hair, checking and double-checking your reflection. There is an awareness in how you are preparing yourself, a presence in the moment. When you are finished, you feel ready.

You walk to the door, and as you open it, you notice a line of shoes laid out before you. They are all new, each pair matching the clothes you are wearing. You pause, taking them in, deciding which pair to choose.

But off to the side, there is an old pair of muddy boots.

Without much thought, you walk over and slip your feet into them.

No hesitation. No second guessing.

There is a quiet justification in it.
A feeling that this part can stay… just for now.

You don’t question how they look with your new clothes, your hair, or the effort you just put into presenting yourself in a new way.

And then, you step out the door.

What the Ancestors are showing is this: your new clothes, your new look, represent the new vibration and frequency you are stepping into. But the muddy boots represent old energy—something you are still holding onto. Something you may not be fully willing to let go of, or something you may not even realize you are still carrying.

It is like saying, look at me, look at all that has changed, don’t I look good, while quietly hoping no one notices what remains underneath.

If you focus hard enough on what has changed, you might believe you can keep parts of the old. But the Ancestors are clear. Those muddy boots are heavy. They are dragging you down and holding you back from fully stepping into where you are meant to be.

So they call you to go back inside, to take the muddy boots off, and to consciously choose a new pair of shoes.

You may already know what your “muddy boots” are.

Or you may feel them… without fully naming them yet.

The place where you say, this isn’t that big of a deal…
The place where you soften your awareness…
The place where you stay just slightly where you’ve always been.

At the same time, the Ancestors want you to understand something deeper.

Transformation does not always mean letting something go completely.

Sometimes it means elevating it—bringing it into the higher vibration and frequency you are now stepping into.

Not everything is meant to be left behind.

Some things are meant to come with you…
but not in the form you have known them.

This is where many people get stuck, thinking the only way forward is to let go completely.

But sometimes the path forward is not release.

It is refinement.

It is like choosing a new pair of boots—still boots, still familiar—but no longer covered in mud, no longer carrying the weight of where you have been.

You may have a relationship in your life that feels challenging, but you do not want to let it go. It may not be the relationship itself that needs to end, but a pattern within it. When you shift the pattern, the relationship begins to shift as well, rising to meet you at your new frequency and becoming more aligned with who you are becoming.

You may also notice moments where it feels difficult to speak up for yourself. Instead of forcing your way through, you can turn inward and gently ask what is blocking your voice. Is it fear—fear of what others may think? Or is it resistance, because if you truly speak your truth, something will change?

These are simple examples, but the invitation from the Ancestors goes deeper.

They are calling you to look within, to a place where you are holding onto something. Something that either needs to be released completely or transformed into a higher vibration.

Do you choose a completely different pair of shoes, or do you choose the new, clean boots?

Sometimes the changes are small. Other times, they are life-changing.

Both are sacred.

Guided Visualization

Imagine yourself grounding deeply into the earth, creating a strong, steady foundation beneath you.

Feel the support of the earth as you anchor in.

Breathe in gratitude for that support.

Allow yourself to see, sense, or simply know what it is that needs to be transformed or released.

Don’t force it.
Just let it come.

Take a moment to feel gratitude for it—for the lesson, the experience, the role it has played in your life.

Now imagine showering it with golden light.

Set the intention to release it fully.

Whether it is resistance, fear, a pattern, or something unnamed, it does not matter.

Let the golden light begin to dissolve it.

Stay grounded as this happens.

Open your heart.

Gently say today’s date and your age, bringing your energy fully into the present moment.

Releasing.
Dissolving.
Raising the vibration.

Setting the intention to let go of what no longer serves you.

Feel it beginning to drain away.

The golden light carries it down through your grounding, releasing it into the earth to be transformed.

Now allow that same golden light to flow back down through you.

Like a soft rain.

Rebalancing.
Reharmonizing.
Every cell of your being.

Bringing you into a state of balance and harmony.

Take a deep breath.

Open your eyes.

And give gratitude—to your Ancestors, to your spirit, and to the healing transformation that has taken place.

Flowing With Change

As you move forward from here, remember this: change is not something you have to fight your way through—it is something you can move with.

When you resist change, it feels heavy, like those muddy boots pulling at every step. But when you allow yourself to flow with it, to trust where it is guiding you, the path begins to soften beneath you.

As you move through your days, begin to notice your choices.

Notice what you reach for automatically.
Notice what feels familiar, even if it no longer feels aligned.

This is where the work continues—not in big moments, but in small, quiet decisions.

Each time you choose differently, you are choosing the new shoes.

You do not have to force every answer or control every outcome. You simply have to stay present, stay aware, and keep choosing what aligns with where you are now.

Let change meet you as a current, not a storm.

And allow yourself to move with it—step by step, choice by choice—into the life that is already unfolding for you.

You don’t step into a new life all at once.

You step into it…with every choice you are now willing to make.
